2020 In Review: A Year of Opportunities

Published on December 23, 2020. Written by: Paul Motley

With the pandemic that began at the start of the year, 2020 presents its own set of challenges early on. While we didn’t know how long this situation would last or what would be in store for us in the coming months, we hope to get back to a new “normal” soon. Looking back at this year in its entirety, the challenges posed to the world as we know it made our team stronger than ever before.

New Ways of Interaction

Taking into consideration our staff, as well as the people we work with, health and safety are very important to us. We couldn’t do as many on-site demos or attend any tradeshows. However, we found new ways to positively interact with our team, partners, and clients.

This year, we held more online demos as well as started our first webinar series with great turnouts.

In our latest webinar on Tips and Tricks on Overcoming 3D Scanning challenges, our experts discussed best practices and ways to tackle common 3D scanning problems to make the workflow much more efficient. Watch the webinar now →

Through these online interactions, we found that meaningful conversations can still exist in this new climate. Furthermore, they can be even better methods at demonstrating how 3D scanning can transform the way you work.

Being able to connect the knowledge of our team with other individuals from all across the world instantaneously creates an environment like no other. We can give our clients the resources they need to help them reach their goals with the technologies that we represent.

More 3D Scanning Resources

At GoMeasure3D, we understand that there are nuances to the 3D scanning process that can make a big difference between getting good enough 3D scan data quality or achieving exceptional results. That is why this year, we continue to create more video demos and tutorials to demonstrate firsthand how to get better scan results.

A video demo on how we can easily scan a large object like a sailboat with the Artec Leo handheld 3D scanner.

In our world of 3D technologies, the most important resource we can provide is direct insight into what can be achieved with the technologies that we carry. This is the reason why we’ve also started to create videos of the tests we conducted in our 3D scanning lab. You can have access to insider knowledge to help you with your next 3D scanning project.

To better understand how aerosol 3D scanning spray coating can have on 3D scanning results, we did our own analysis to see how coating an object would affect performance.
Q&A

As we continue our 21st year in business, your feedback is very important to us. We want to hear your questions you want us to address and how we can better help you with 3D scanning. We’ve started this with our GoMeasure3D Answers series in order to create relevant resources that you would like to see. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask us.

Partnership with Artec

This year, we’re also honored to be awarded the first Artec Partner Ambassador in the United States. We demonstrated our knowledge and expertise in using all of the handheld and desktop 3D scanners that Artec has to offer. We’re always here to provide you with an online demo to discuss your 3D scanning needs and how we can be of help.

New Office

New Office

We opened our new Harrisonburg office which gives us more space to do videos and demos to provide our customers with the resources they need. This is a great space for future in-person meetings with close proximity to Washington, DC, and other major East Coast locations.

3D Scanning Trends In 2021

As we’ve mentioned in our article, Four New and Exciting 3D Scanning Technologies To Gear Up For 2021, we’re seeing good synergies across technologies. For example, Artec released the new HD Mode for its Artec Studio 3D scanning software this year which combines the use of 3D scanning with the power of AI. You can now get both high-quality scans with the convenience of a handheld 3D scanner—all in one simple, easy-to-use package. We’re excited to see how the 3D scanning industry is transforming and evolving in the New Year!

From all of us at GoMeasure3D, we wish you a Merry Christmas and all the best in the upcoming New Year.
