HDI 3D Scanner

Speed, accuracy and performance in one powerful system

We are using the HDI Advance scanner almost every day, and having it here makes a huge difference in timing. We compared the resolution and accuracy on 10 parts that we recently had scanned by a service company using a $300K white light scanning system and got identical results.

Superior 3D scan data at an unmatched price

1 Scan => 1,100,000 3D Data Points in 1 Second

The HDI 3D scanners offer advanced 3D scanning at a fraction of the cost of comparable systems built for industrial grade quality and geometry. The system delivers amazing high resolution 3D images, also known as scan data, from physical objects. The scan data contains the 3D measurements of the scanned part. This information is useful across various industrial applications including 3D visualization, reverse engineering, computer-aided design, quality inspection, and 3D printing.

No Measurement Interference

no measurement interference

Using contact measurement devices (calipers and touch probes) to measure parts with complex organic shapes can be a challenge. The HDI 3D scanner uses structured-light technology to capture the physical form of an object into a digital 3D model in high resolution and accuracy without any physical contact.

Optimize the 3D scanning process

FlexScan3D is the scanner control software that powers the HDI 3D scanners. With an intuitive user-friendly interface, the software takes you through every step of the scanning process from 3D capture to post-processing of 3D scan data.

3D Geometry Acquisition

Step 1

The scanner directs a series of reference patterns onto an object. The light deflects onto the object’s surface. The scanner captures these images to calculate the object’s depth and surface information.

Step 2

FlexScan3D processes the images to acquire the data needed to create a 3D scans. Automated 3D capture drastically reduces the time and cost in capturing complex physical measurements. Rotate the object and take scans of all sides of the object.

Post-Processing Scan Data

Step 3

Clean up scan data and stitch individual scans into a full digital 3D model with FlexScan3D’s built-in post-processing capabilities. Once clean up is complete, export the data into standard file formats: PLY, OBJ, STL, ASC, FBX.

Step 4

Consider using Geomagic or SpaceClaim for advanced post-processing for specific industry applications. These software packages are helpful for 3D inspection and reverse engineering applications.
