HDI 120 3D Scanner: 3D Scanning a Rock in 5 Minutes

Published on January 15, 2016.

This video demonstrates the use of the HDI 120 3D Scanner to scan a piece of rock for archaeology applications inside FlexScan3D software. FlexScan3D is the engine that powers the HDI line of 3D scanners. The video indicates a time marker to show how long it takes to scan the rock using a rotary table, align and merge all the scans together to create a full digital 3D model. No video editing was done during the 3D scanning process to show realistically how long it takes. The rotary table is used to automate the 3D scanning process.
